Conquest (CheetahSoft)

Conquest (CheetahSoft)
This is the second of CheetahSoft's tactical games for players looking for a bigger challenge: and that includes the real veterans amongst you.

Mediterranean Europe is divided into grid squares. Your aim, as Emperor, is to gain 100 squares of territory as quickly as possible - but at the same time you have to deal with Barbarian counter-attacks on your flanks, which are vulnerable.

For each 5 squares you cover, you are awarded a further legion to help you in your battle.

The computer directs the Barbarian attacks - and at higher levels you'll also have to take on rival Emperors with exactly the same ambitions as yourself!

There are 5 levels of skill - plus a continuous 'Conquest' game, where all the difficulty levels are thrown together, for those of you looking for the ultimate challenge.

Extra features at higher level:

  • Random plague attacks which can wipe out one or more of your legions.
  • Civil war if you (the Emperor) are killed - or if one of your generals gains too much power.
  • Forts/ports can be built to strengthen your Empire.
