Safety-monitoring peripheral driver development

As part of a multi-million Euro international project developing safety-critical software for a new family of automotive microcontrollers, MCG Embedded was asked to architect, implement and test a driver for a new peripheral, the role of which is to supervise internal monitoring functions within the processor. With pre-production silicon and unreleased, beta versions of the development tool-chain, the project provided a number of considerable technical challenges.

MCG Embedded rose to the task providing input to the customer's requirements which allowed an improved architecture to be developed. Working closely with both the silicon partner and tool-chain vendors allowed us to overcome these technical challenges to provide a fully-tested prototype driver, ready for use by our customer in their AUTOSAR-compatible safety library.
