This is the original 128K version of Sir Clive's ground-breaking machine – Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128K+, commonly known as “Toastrack†- the last Spectrum by Sinclair before the Amstrad take-over.
This is the most compatible of all Spectrums - running 128K and 48K games, with the versatility of a standard cassette port instead of a built-in deck, and with the 3-channel sound and 128K memory needed for the most demanding Spectrum games.
As with all our systems, it has been cleaned, refurbished and further improved.
It is of course, fully working and comes with a 1 year guarantee.
The computer has been fully stripped down and carefully cleaned inside out giving it a fresh look and feel.
The keys are all working! A brand new improved "Made in Scotland" keyboard membrane has been fitted. We only use the best quality membranes available on the market to ensure the keyboard is ready for many years trouble-free use.
Brand new rubber feet (made in 2016) have been fitted.
The Toastrack has been tested for full functionality including with a Multiface 128 and Divmmc Future.
All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with high quality Vishay brand capacitors, as these are usually the only parts which degrade over time.
The ULA has been heatsinked using Arctic Alumina thermal paste to ensure it running smoothly.
The Spectrum has been modified to give proper RGB switching signal for the SCART lead to give a truly stable picture.
The AY sound and the beeper sound have been correctly balanced so that the beeper does not drown out the AY sound as it usually does on a 128K+.
The 128K Spectrums have a bug in the GAL chip where it shows black horizontal lines interference (aka “ULA rainâ€) when running certain games (such as “Fantasy World Dizzy†and many demos). We have replaced the GAL chip with a fixed version without the bugs.
The Spectrum is supplied with the RGB SCART lead and the cassette lead.
If you require a power supply, please ask otherwise it won't be included.
