This service is only available as part of a repair. Add this item to your order if you wish a chip to be fitted with a heatsink. If you wish this service without a repair, the cost will be £29.99 as with a normal repair.

Many old computers were designed using components that ran hot. Not only that, but after 20 or 30 years, this can put too much strain on already fragile chips. A heat sink can help improve the lifespan of your machine a great deal, by protecting those components that are so expensive to replace!

We suggest a heatsink fitting on:

Commodore 16 or Plus/4 CPU (HIGHLY recommended)

Commodore 16 TED (HIGHLY recommended - not necessary on plus/4)

Sinclair Spectrum ULA (48K ULA requires soldering to the board when in the original case)
